Original Creations, Expressions in Felt for 2011

Sometimes it is the new face that Maggie has sculpted each year that attracts your eye. It might be the colors she chose from the palette of her dreams that make you take a closer look. And then you will begin to follow the details, those perfect little touches that will pull you into Maggie's imagination. And as you take that closer look, you'll fall in love with the textures of felts and silks and their perfect shades of rose, and azure, and green. Collectors can tell when a doll is made out of love. And they can always tell an original work of art. And of course they know when it comes straight from the heart.

In the Maggie Made 2011 collection you will find all of the above. The colors, the textures, and the details, all brought together by the talents of Maggie Iacono. Dolls with incredible texture and color in their fabrics and the details that only Maggie can bring you are found in this collection. Each has poseable jointed bodies and individually wired fingers.

We present to you, the original creations of Maggie Iacono, for 2011.

Annie

Art and fashion are brought together through the use of rich texture and detail. Annie's dress was inspired by the deep, gorgeous, periwinkle blue, dupioni silk. Accented with a celery green silk collar and cuffs. The dress, including the skirt, is lined to give it a luxurious drape and body.

Placed over her dress is a pinnie, constructed in light celery green felt. The delight of this creation, is the incredible detail that enhances the pinafore. Both cut work and a Victorian era embellishment called passimenterie, are employed here adding depth and dimension to Annie's total look. Her beautiful red curly mohair wig crowns her head giving an exciting accent to the overall look.

Standing 16 1/2" tall, Annie is fully jointed and poseable from her finger tips down to her ankles.

Annie is limited to 60 pieces, and priced at $975.

Tess and Cameron

A pair of angels, dressed for a special occasion, these two are dressed in a vintage style that Maggie can call her own.

Tess is wearing a layered wool felt dress. The felt skirt is topped with a silk pale pink over skirt, highlighted with black polka dots. The hand made felt flowers around her bodice neckline, show off her graceful neck and sweet, innocent face. Topping her soft mohair curls, is a molded felt hat adorned with a marvelous striped felt ribbon. With the slight puff of her sleeves she is the epitome of femininity with all the grace and style of an age gone by.

Cameron wears a pair of striped silk pants that are buttoned to his cotton shirt with an embroidered eton collar. His brown wool felt jacket is accented with two tone felt buttons and lined with silk. A jaunty mossy green wool felt hat with a wide black felt ribbon is the perfect topper for this young nostalgic gentleman. With hands in his pockets Cameron stands waiting for you to take him into your collection and into your heart.

Both Tess and Cameron are 11" tall and jointed at their thighs, shoulders, elbows and neck. And each of their tiny fingers is also poseable. Sold separately, you will find it hard not to want to both. They are, as you can see, an inseparable couple of friends.

Josette

Maggie's eye for blending the softness of felt and the slight shimmer of silk, is showcased here in Josette's sumptuous attire. Her coat is composed of a rich silk brocade, lined in felt to give it the right weight, and embellished with handmade matching silk covered buttons.

She is ready to step out with her silk purse with added felt details. The striking strap over her shoulder reflects the deep plum of her suede shoes. Her ever so fashionable wool felted scarf, is just the right texture to compliment the silk jacket. The scarf perfectly frames her lovely face and is artfully hand died to match her ensemble. Fabulous felt, hand applied roses and leaves, embellish the creamy multi panelled felt skirt.
